A Standard Wedding Reception Progam Outlined

Probably the most memorable event of your life will be your wedding, so it stands to reason that the arrangements for it will be quite extensive and elaborate.  This includes everything, right down to the arrangements for the wedding reception.

If you want to host a reception, take a look at how they generally work.

Normally the reception begins within 15 minutes of the couple exiting the auditorium.  Upon arrival, guests are greeted and directed to their seats.Your seating plan will be followed. Or, guests may choose to sit wherever and with whomever they prefer.

Soon after, ensure that the parents and sponsors are present at the head table.

After just about everyone is seated, you can ask the wedding party to stand in the receiving area.  This should not include the primary sponsors or parents.  They generally assemble together. The order in which they are called is:  flower girls, ring bearers, secondary sponsors, groomsmen with the bridesmaids, and then the best man and maid of honor.

Next, the newlyweds make their celebratory entrance, accompanied by party favors like confetti or bubbles.

After the couple has arrived, make sure that the parents and main benefactors are shown and permitted to stand and wave. The duo can be asked to tend to the ceremony of the cutting of the cake at the spot reserved for this purpose.  Followed by the champagne toast will be a release of doves.Next comes a prayer of thanksgiving done by the maid of honor. Then there is the meal, and the guests are invited to take pictures with the newlyweds.  After this, they go to the buffet table to run things at the table. There are several types of cupcake wedding cakes.

Once everyone has food and once they’re all seated, the guest performer does his or her number.  The audio-visual display will follow, if there is one.

The best man then gives his own toast to the bride and groom, followed by the many well wishes from the rest of the attendees to the couple.  It is best not to permit too many of these to avoid things becoming bogged down.Once this is done, the Bride has a dance with her father, and then the groom steps in and enjoys a dance with his new wife.  This can be followed by other dances.

One of every single woman’s favorite feature of a wedding is next, the bouquet tossing ceremony, which is usually followed by the groom teasingly removing the brides garter and then tossing it into the crowd of single men. Dont forget inexpensive wedding favors or unique wedding favors!

There are lots of variations to this plan.  Not all wedding receptions are the same, as some do not incorporate live musicians.  Others include a dance where the groom dances with his mother.  But by following this standard program as much as possible, veering only where you’ve made a couple of customizations, you can be sure that your reception will be close enough to traditional that nobody will complain, yet original enough that nobody will get bored.
